Transforming our neighborhood streets into public space
celebrating the past and welcoming the future for all residents
Located in the heart of Manhattan, NoMad Walk will be a series of eight distinct public plazas on Broadway between 24th and 32nd St. It will create a flowing, green space in the area north of Madison Square Park known as “NoMad,” an area undergoing rapid urban transformation with new hotels, restaurants, residential developments, and retail stores.
The design and programming of the eight plazas will preserve and celebrate the rich and significant cultural heritage of the surrounding neighborhood, which includes the New York City Flower Market, the historic home of entertainment in Manhattan (“The Tenderloin”), and Tin Pan Alley – the birthplace of the American popular song.
NoMad Walk will blend preservation with creative practice, uniting public space and cultural immersion through innovative urban design and arts programming.
